Continuous Reverse Nearest Neighbor Search
The query service for the location of an object is called Location Based Services (LBSs), and Reverse Nearest Neighbor (RNN) queries are one of them. RNN queries have diversified applications, such as decision support system, market decision, query of database document, and biological information. Studies of RNN in the past, however, focused on inquirers in immobile status without consideration...
متن کاملDimensional Testing for Reverse k-Nearest Neighbor Search
Given a query object q, reverse k-nearest neighbor (RkNN) search aims to locate those objects of the database that have q among their k-nearest neighbors. In this paper, we propose an approximation method for solving RkNN queries, where the pruning operations and termination tests are guided by a characterization of the intrinsic dimensionality of the data. The method can accommodate any index ...
متن کاملNearest Neighbor Search on Moving Object Trajectories
With the increasing number of Mobile Location Services (MLS), the need for effective k-NN query processing over historical trajectory data has become the vehicle for data analysis, thus improving existing or even proposing new services. In this paper, we investigate mechanisms to perform NN search on R-tree-like structures storing historical information about moving object trajectories. The pro...
متن کاملFast Approximate Nearest-Neighbor Search with k-Nearest Neighbor Graph
We introduce a new nearest neighbor search algorithm. The algorithm builds a nearest neighbor graph in an offline phase and when queried with a new point, performs hill-climbing starting from a randomly sampled node of the graph. We provide theoretical guarantees for the accuracy and the computational complexity and empirically show the effectiveness of this algorithm.
متن کاملk-Expected Nearest Neighbor Search over Gaussian Objects
Probabilistic location information has been attracting more and more attention due to the advances in computing devices and technologies, and has become an important research topic in recent years. In particular, Gaussian distribution is frequently used to represent probabilistic location information. On the other hand, as one of the commonest queries over location information, the distance-bas...
